At the age of 93 years, died on Sunday, 17. July war veteran col. Karel Šerák, honorary citizen of the city of Ostrava and the holder of the series honours. As a tank commander 1. čs. tank brigade, he participated in the liberation of the Ostrava. He also participated in the fighting at Dukla, and at Jaslo. He's originally from Volhynia, after the release of the advance shall permanently settled Czechoslovakia in Chotiněvsi.
