The Vietnamese Air Force lost Sukhoi Su-30MK2, reg. 8585, v.no. 79810388311. Both pilots, lt. col. Trần Quang Khải and Maj. Nguyễn Hữu Cường, ejected, later Maj. Trần Quang Khải is still missing and may be presumed dead. The machine crashed off Đảo Mắt Island. During a search and rescue operation, crashed two days later, a Vietnam Coast Guard CASA C-212 Aviocar 400MPA aircraft crashed, killing all 9 people on board.
