The armored medical evacuation vehicle (Wóz Ewakuacji Medycznej) Lotos is built on a modified MT-LB (Opal-I) chassis, licensed for production at Huta Stalowa Wola in Stalowa Wola. Sources differ as to whether or not the production vehicle has a raised rear end. The medical evacuation vehicle can carry 4 stretchers with injured, 2 recumbent and five seated patients, or up to 8 (9) seated patients. At the same time, the vehicle allows for the provision of pre-medical first aid. The crew of the vehicle is three persons - a paramedic, a driver and a commander.

The vehicle is unarmed, although it is probably possible to install a machine gun over the commander's hatch. It still has seakeeping capability, although unlike other Polish derivatives of the MT-LB it is not equipped with hydrometers, so movement during navigation is provided only by tracks as in the Soviet original.

The vehicle is established in the armament of the Ground Forces Armed Forces of the Polish Republic, one unit was pravdepdooben delivered to Nigeria.

Different sources have different photographs of the vehicle - in some the vehicle has a raised superstructure at the rear, in others the hull is standard.
