Pz.Kpfw.-Turm 35(t) (Behelfsmäesig f.2 M.G.37(t))

Turrets from decommissioned tanks Pz.Kpfw.35(t) (ex. LT vz.35) and from converted machines Mörserzugmittel 35(t) were used as permanent firing posts. The Pz.Kpfw.-Turm 35(t) (Normalserie) was the standard version, but a makeshift version was also created, where the gun was replaced by an M.G.37(t) machine gun of 7.92 mm calibre. The original turret face Pz.Kpfw.35(t) along with the armament was removed and replaced with a plate and armament from Pz.Kpfw.38(t). With the 3.7 cm Kw.K.38(t) gun removed and an additional M.G.37(t) machine gun of 7.92 mm calibre laffered in its position, the turret armament now consisted of a pair of these machine guns. The ammunition supply consisted of 45,000 rounds. The frontal armour was 25 or 50 mm thick, the side armour 16 mm, and the ceiling was 8 mm thick. The height of the turret itself was 800 mm, the concrete base was 278 mm high.
A total of nine towers were produced by Škoda (order dated 1.4.1945). These turrets were to be sent to Festung-Kommandant Brün (Brno). The armament of 3.7 cm Kw.K.38(t) was considered, but on 8.4.1945 it was decided that this rearmament would not be carried out and the turrets were to be delivered in a twin machine gun configuration.
The concept was similar to the Pz.Kpfw.-Turm 38(t) (Behelfsmäesig f.2 M.G.37(t)).
