The ecuadorian army aviation (Aviación del Ejército Ecuatoriana - AEA) came in on transport aircraft IAI 201 Arava, reg. E-206, v. no. 0090, while lost their lives all 22 people on board (3 crew members and 19 passengers-paratroopers). The machine crashed in Hacienda la Palmira, Pastaza.
The paratroopers were identified as: Podplukovní (Tnte Crnel.) Santiago Apolo Cubes; majors (los mayores) Juan Ordoñez, Carlos Alvear Landeta; Jerson Flores Rodríguez; captains (capitanes) Diego Icaza Mejía; Luis Bolaños Ramirez; Cristian Zambrano Pérez. Lieutenants (Tenientes): Manuel Mena Acosta; Willian Ortiz Acaquiña; sergeants (sargentos): Edison Aguilar Fauta; Edison Sinchiguano Iza; Oscar Villa Adriana. Edison Vargas Narváez; Wilson Saw Alvarado; Fredy Acosta Sánchez; Edison Mendoza Rendón; Luis Ramirez Lozano; Santiago Sarango Jumbo, Óscar Pinto.
