Jen velmi málo lidí slyšelo o tomto koncentračním táboře v Alsasku ve Francii, nedaleko Lucemburska. 4km uvnitř Chantier de Fer v Thielu byla továrna na rakety V-2. Tábor byl situován 4 kilometry mimo město poblíž bývalé německé hranice. 500 maďarských strojařů sem bylo posláno z Auschwitz-Birkenau aby pracovali v továrně. Tábor pracoval od května do října 1944. Po 16km pochodu, během 8 hodin práce, vězni museli přenášet těžké části raket a rakety po více jak 500m dlouhé cestě. Nedostatečná výživa zabila mnoho zajatců. V říjnu 1944 pár minut před tím, něž tábor osvobodila americká armáda, byly zajatci převezeni do Kochendorfu v Německu. V době, kdy tábor opouštěl vlak se zajatci do jeho spodní části vjiždeli americké tanky. V té době také američané osvobodili také tábor Strutthoff.

The visit for me personally was a bit disappointing, of course the place itself is just like any other camp of this focus, but I think that France has focused too much on the construction of a modern "information center", but there is almost nothing interesting available, than the camp itself, which is also undergoing "modernization", so some of the buildings are new or renovated in a way that does not exactly evoke the atmosphere of a work camp. The exhibition devoted to the history of the camp was strangely depressing, and unlike the rest of the camp, there were no multilingual labels. Finally, even about the French Resistance itself, apart from the executions carried out, one did not learn much else, so for me a clear missed opportunity to pass on to other visitors a slightly wider range of information.
The location of this camp is almost on the top of the mountain, the nearby quarry was the place where the prisoners were deployed, but we did not learn where the prisoners were actually sent and why.
