The pilot of the aeroplane was a member of the Air force of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Republic of China (Taiwan) Air Force, Maj. Kao Ting-cheng (高鼎程), which entered service the year 2007 and since then he flew 865 hours of flight time. He was in the US having orthopedic training, the accident occurred during a practice air combat, which was the subject of the oending flight.
