JERRV and the Czech army

Vehicle JERRV was loaned to the Czech army in favor of the pyrotechnic odřadů included in the assembly of the contingents (units) of the Czech Provincial reconstruction team dislocated at the base of the FOB Shank in the afghan province of Logar. When combat deployment were Czech bomb squad, inter alia, included into the assembly of the so-called RCP (Route Clearance Patrol), which was an element of the u.s. army to secure the movement of units in space activities. Patrols of the RCP were equipped with vehicles with increased ballistic protection category of MRAP (Mine Resistance Ambush Protect). The exit consisted as a rule, command vehicle RG-31, specialized vehicle Buffalo with a hydraulic arm designed to a severance package handling during disposal of booby explosive systems. The assembly further complement the MRAP with odminovacím tralem ("Roller") and a truck Husky for the search of booby explosive systems (IED - Improvised Explosive Device), which was equipped with a soil radar and two magnetometers. The rescue and evacuation of damaged or destroyed equipment was determined by the recovery vehicle (e.g., a M984 from a number HEMTT). The Czech group of pyrotechnic cleansing (EOD - Explosive Ordnance Disposal) in the assembly of the RCP ranged in the vehicle JERRV, in which she had the necessary equipment, robot, Talon, suit, EOD 9, and other material. Patrols RCP regularly drove through the main and side road, which in these places to reduce the threat of saving and the incidence of improvised explosive traps. Column RCP moved at different speeds, and patrol could take up to 15 hours, which in turn depend on the amount of detected explosive traps, unexploded ordnance or just from the bad weather.

Czech detachment EOD used vehicle JERRV (or possibly Cougar 4x4) included in the lineup of the us team EOD dislocated to FOB Shank. The crew usually consisted of four soldiers. Situational awareness of the crew mounted observation system Gyrocam combining a television and a thermal imaging camera, which worked in seven modes. Part of the equipment was a combat vehicle information system ("BFT" - Blue Force Tracker) and also a jammer to protect against the activation of radio triggers booby explosive systems. During one patrol RCP occurred under the Czech vehicle JERRV to the explosion of the explosive traps, which ripped all the wheels of the chassis. Czech soldiers from the assault escaped without injury.

Eod detachments operating in the ranks of the Czech Provincial reconstruction team were made up of members of the 151., 152. and 153. ženíjního battalion. For example, a detachment EOD 9. the unit of the Provincial reconstruction team in its activities in 2012, eliminated the order of 40 IEDS, performed roughly half the number of firearm analysis PBA (Post Blast Analysis) on the locations of IED incidents and participated in the successful detection and disposal of a total of three caches of weapons, ammunition and components to manufacture the IED.
