CZK - Di-6 (infraprůkazníkový dalekohled)

Di-6
The Di-6 infrared telescope is intended for detecting infrared headlamps used in active infrared instruments. Di-6 is derived from the D-6 telescope. The right monocular is identical, the left monocular has an indication plate indicating the sources of infrared radiation and an ultraviolet exciter. When the plate is excited by UV radiation and in the working position, infrared rays from the radiation source pass through the lens of the Di-6 telescope and hit the indicator plate, where they create a bright circle of green spot (the shade is given by the chemical composition of the sensitive layer).

If the plate is out of working position, the Di-6 telescope can be used as a standard telescope D-6.

In order for the indicator plate to be functional, it must be excited from a UV source before use (there is a dial on the left eyepiece that moves the plate from the working position to the position below the UV filter for excitation). As a source of UV radiation it is possible to use either normal daylight (scattered light will ensure the excitation of the plate within 15-20 minutes, direct sunlight within 10-15 minutes), or a light bulb with a power input of 100-200 W - will ensure the excitation of the plate in 15- 20 minutes if the bulb is about 20 cm from the filter. When arousing, care must be taken to ensure that the entire surface of the UV filter is irradiated (the eyepiece must not cast a shadow on the filter) and also that the telescope body is not overheated (bulb, direct sunlight) and the leaking sealant .

One excitation of the plate is sufficient for 2-3 days of use (if the instrument is used for an average of 8 hours/24 hours), or up to 5-7 days if the binoculars are stored in a case. It is recommended not to use the instrument for at least 1-2 hours after excitation, as the freshly excited plate shows weak luminescence, which makes observation difficult.

Optical characteristics of Di-6:
- magnification: 6x
- field of view: 8 ° 30´ without indicator plate, 7 ° 30´ with indicator plate in working position
- diameter of the exit pupil: 4.5 mm
- distance of the exit pupil: 11 mm
- 10 "resolution without indicator plate, 13" with indicator plate in working position
- diopter adjustment: +/- 5

The distance of the headlamp indication depends on their power, their position in relation to the observer (its deviation from the axis of the headlamp) and the weather conditions.
Indicative values of the indication distance are up to 10,000 m for a headlight with a diameter of 45 cm and a power of 350W, resp. 6000 m for a headlight with a diameter of 7 cm and a power of 200W. The indication distance decreases during light fog, light rain and snow, but also under strong moonlight. The indication is completely prevented by heavy fog or heavy rain and snow.
