Many of the unused turrets from decommissioned Pz.Kpfw.38(t) tanks and cancelled classic tank production were used in static fortification defences. The turrets themselves were not modified in any way, the armament was the original Czechoslovak armament, consisting of the 3.7 cm Kw.K.38(t) gun and the M.G.37(t) machine gun of 7.92 mm calibre. The ammunition supply consisted of 396 rounds for the gun and 24,000 rounds for the machine gun. The armour of the turret was according to which version of the tank it was. The frontal armour was 25 or 50 mm thick, the side armour 15 or 30 mm, the ceiling was 12 mm thick. The height of the turret itself was 730 mm, the concrete base was 292 mm high. A total of 225 turrets were supplied by BMM Praha, 26 turrets were supplied by Heereszeugamt Vienna and 100 turrets were supplied by H.Kfz.Werkstatt from Přelouč. The tower status report of 26 March 1945 showed 75 towers in Denmark, 9 towers on the Atlantic or Western Vale, 25 towers in Italy, 150 towers in the Balkans and 78 on the Eastern Front. This source1) puts the total as of 26.3.1945 at 361 Bauform 241 Panzer 38(t) turrets. It gives the following numbers:

I came across new information about the use of Pz.Kpfw.38(t) turrets in southern France. From the report of Fest- Stamm-Abteilung AOK 19 on the numbers of anti-tank fortifications on 1 August 1944 in the different sectors of the infantry divisions :
