The indonesian armed forces came about the plane General Dynamics F-16C Block 25F Fighting Falcon, the military designation "TS-1643", v no 85-1447. The aircraft belonged to 3. squadron (TNIAU 3 sqn.). Previously zloužil aircraft in the american air forces and it's up to the year 2013. The accident occurred during takeoff from the air base Halim Perdana Kusuma, when this aircraft caught fire due to a technical fault on the engine. Pilot Lieutenant Colonel (lieutenant colonel) Firman Dwi Cahyono is saved, but the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
