The decision on its construction was issued in 1928 the chief of the General staff when updating the plan of a military airport network for the years 1928-1935. Expropriation documentation of land for the construction of the airport area come from the years 1930-1933. The actual construction was started in 1937 and June 1939 were built hangars, administration and accommodation buildings, take-off and landing area and the barracks.
