CHARACTERISTICS AND USAGE
A fragmenting, defensive, time-activated, post-throw, UZRGM igniter. Detonates in 3.2-4.2 s from activation. Throws from cover.
CONSTRUCTION
Main parts of the RG-F1:- RG body
- igniter (transport and throw fuse)
- bursting cartridge
BodyBody: ovoid shape, made of alloy, used for storing the blasting charge and for screwing on the igniter. It is grooved both transversely and longitudinally, which makes it easier to form shrapnel. It is khaki in colour. The mouth is threaded for screwing on the lighter. During storage - closing stopper.
UZRGM lighter: lighter with time effect. It is activated after the RG is thrown.
- Mechanical device - used to inject the igniter
- body, firing pin (needle with shaped upper part), spring, thread for connection to the RG body
- pyrotechnic assembly - used to initiate the blasting charge of the RG
- two fuses - transport fuse and throwing fuse
Transport fuse: Secures both fuse and grenade against unwanted explosion during transport and handling. It consists of a safety cotter pin and ring.
Throw safety: Keeps the firing pin with firing pin spring in the tensioned position during transport and handling until the grenade is thrown.
Tear chargeTear charge : 50-56 grams of compressed TNT. A cavity is moulded in the bursting charge, into which a cardboard sleeve is inserted. The sleeve forms a compartment for the lighter.

RG LABELLING - F 1 AND LABELLING OF UZRGM LIGHTERS
The RG-F1 has black stenciling on the bottom of the body, factory mark, batch number/laboration year, bursting charge mark and bursting charge batch number/year of manufacture.
UZRG lighters - stamped on the throw fuse lever with batch number, year of manufacture, type of lighter, and factory mark.
GRANATE OPERATION
Before throwing - the striker is in the tensioned position
- the striker spring is compressed between the guide washer and the striker washer
- the throwing safety is secured by the transport safety pin on the lighter body.
After the throw, the throwing safety in which the firing pin is caught is released. By the action of the firing pin spring on the firing pin, the firing pin is dislodged, the firing pin extends and impales the primer. The flame of the fuse ignites the delay fuse and, when it burns out, ignition of the fuze occurs. The detonation wave of the fuze initiates the bursting charge.
