The German government on Wednesday 7. January 2015 approved a stay of two batteries of German anti-aircraft missile complexes of the MIM-104 Patriot in southern Turkey for another year. The German batteries are part of the NATO mission and their stay for another year must still confirm the German parliament.
It is about 400 soldiers, who have to be in January 2016.
The US, Germany and the Netherlands have deployed their anti-aircraft rocket complexis Patriot in southern Turkey in early 2013 to protect its territory due to the sharpening of the civil war in Syria.
Dutch batteries in Turkey this year ends, they should replace them with units from Spain (according to other sources from Canada).
