President Zeman is visiting Czech troops in Afghanistan, where he will be until Sunday.
Czech soldiers serving in Afghanistan within the ISAF mission since 2002, the mandate to have approved by the end of 2014, currently there are about 270. In Afghanistan has so far been almost 5,000 Czech soldiers and the result of the war five of them were killed.
Zeman is the first Czech or czechoslovak head of state, which in Afghanistan has come. Before him the country repeatedly visited by prime ministers Mirek Topolanek and Petr Necas and former defense minister Alexander Vondra.
