15.09.2013 - Požár na ruské jaderné ponorce

In repair shipyard Zvezda in the village of Bolshoi Kamen in the Russian Far east broke out during welding work of a fire on a submarine K-132 Irkutsk series 949А Antěj (the code of NATO Oscar II). Thick smoke, according to the agency Interfax began to rise from the space between the two skins of the hull of the submarine. Fifteen firefighting teams from the pacific fleet and of the ministry of emergency situation are now trying to extinguish the fire.
According to the command of the fleet, the situation is under control, the radiation leak there is no danger and the guns were from the submarine excluded before the start of the repair.

Today it was clarified that the fire occurred on a submarine K-132 Irkutsk, but on K-150 Tomsk.

It was also specified the information that a nuclear reactor has been stopped already before the start of work, so the risk of contamination by radioactive substances there is.
