M1915 Kugelhandgranate

ruční granát
Already before the First world war were the armies (based on the experience of the conflicts in the balkans and the Russo-Japanese war) introduced hand grenades who, unlike the original simple containers with doutnákem use of modern conveniences, how was the casting steel and the modern chemical primers. One of such shells was even Kugelgranat introduced in the German army. It was about the casting of various shapes (according to the manufacturer, and period) with a weight of around 0.8 kg and a filling of about 60g for black powder. The grenade pictured is probably the pattern 1915 (not 1913) which differ in weight (about 900 grams) and shape (model of 1913 had fragmented the surface). Grenades have a time fuse with a delay of 5 - 7 seconds. Later they were replaced by Eierhandgranaten M1916 which were less weight and could be easier to wear and further up..
