16.07.2013 - V Panamamě zadržena loď KLDR s vojenským materiálem

Panamanian authorities detained the north Korean ship Kang Nam 1, which was going to sail through the Panama canal on its way from Cuba to North Korea. The ship was smuggling under a cargo of sugar cane components of the missile system air defense SA-75 Dvina (SA-2 Guideline) - supposedly it should be a part of the radar SNR-75 Fan Song or a clone of this type. In addition, they were to be smuggled 2 aircraft MiG-21 and 15 motors.

When the police came on board, the captain of the ship tried to commit suicide. Voluntarily gave up even the rest of the crew, yet Panamcům managed to hold everyone and to undergo the questioning.

Military material should be according to the statement, the cuban leaders being transported for repair.
