In the late evening hours of Saturday morning died at the impressive age of 95 years, retired brigadier general Zdeněk Škarvada. The pilot became for 1. RČS, after the occupation, he escaped abroad, where he fought in the ranks of the RAF, 1942, he was forced to leave his aircraft on a parachute over the English channel, it has been saved German ships, and so became up to the end of the war a prisoner of war. Until 1950, it remained in the air force, where he was eventually and he was released. Subsequently, he worked as a miner. Among a series of honors has also received honorary citizenship of the city of Ostrava.
