Abwerfbare Schwimmer für Pz.Kpfw.II
The second version was a one-piece pontoon boat-shaped float, in the centre of which was a hole into which a tank was placed. The pontoon was centred and clamped to the machine by means of locks that fitted into mounts mounted on the front and rear of the tank. The propulsion of this grouping was provided by two propellers, the operation of which was ensured by a device located at the rear of the float. When the float was mounted on the tank, the gears fitted into the holes in the tank belts, and when the belt was moved, the propeller was rotated by means of these gears. Tests conducted by the Army's WaPrüf 6/III testing department took place on the in the summer of 1941. Serial production was not started.
