Operational-tactical missile complex 9K714U Eye-U is a modernized operational-tactical complex 9K714 Oka.

The main improvement was in the use of the upgraded missiles 9M714U, which was fitted with a radar homing warhead 9N74U, whose flight was controlled by aerodynamic kormidly after the separation of the warhead from the body of the rocket. Controlled flight was thus over the entire path up to the last moment, so the circular deviation from the target was within 30 m.

It was further assumed the use of rockets 9M714UR in the assembly průzkumně-strike complexes with the adoption of the coordinates of the target from a remote source of information. This means that it was considered the possibility of operational targeting of the missiles to another object during its flight under the control of the aircraft distant radar surveillance for the A-50 (some sources include aircraft M-55 Geophysics), which at the same time see the target and the missile.

New self-propelled launchers (SGI) started developing design office CKB Titanium by the end of 1982. The new SGI were designed to neplovoucím chassis BAZ-69481 (8x8) with two engines KamAZ-740, each with an output of 220 kW (300 hp).

On samohybném OZ 9P71 considered with the placement of one rocket, on samohybném charging cage should be placed rockets two and on the rk also two missiles.

SGI was equipped with an automatic system uvodorovnění and screw lifting mechanism of the rocket.

Test SGI was in the year 1987 ready for testing, however, the development has not been terminated and therefore SGI has not been taken into the equipment due to the acceptance of the contract on liquidation of rockets of small and medium range. That have been terminated and all work on the modernization of all components of the missile complex.
