Diskuse

Alone Schepke during the attack of the destroyer Vanoc died a fairly brutal way. When ramming his bow tore off both legs at the torso and his body pulled to cover the periscope. After Vanoc released the reverse gear Schepke still alive and he was thrown into the sea, where he was last seen, before it's swallowed by a big wave..

The problem is created around the numbers that Schepke featured.According to his calculations, sank 11 ships with a 36 372 t for type II (U-3,U-19)and 26 ships with a displacement of 176 938t on the U-100.A total of 37 ships with a displacement of 213 310.Dönitz knew from the reports B-dienstu that Schepke is an inveterate storyteller,in terms of sunken tonnage. In fact Schepkeho data have been the subject of jokes in the entire hunter-killer fleet ,where they called it "Schepke tonnage".Yet he Doenitz awarded the Oak leaves for exceeding 200 thousand tons.
After the war his score was adjusted to 155 882 t and he was 13.the most successful captain
