The mid-range tractor was developed from experience with tractor development Praga III. A shortened prototype with six running wheels was built first. According to Pejcoch 1), this type was referred to as the "Praga V" or "T V".
Note/quote to the published photo of the short prototype:

Citace - Jiří Tintěra :

The description of the photo on page 36, possibly mislabels the one shown. On the available drawings of ČKD and Praga this machine is marked as Praga NT, or Praga IV. On the other hand, the archived photographs of the series: 110 17G, have a description identical to the author's data.

The Praga V prototype was pushed into a competition for new artillery tractors for Turkey by the capable Turkish representatives of ČKD, Abdulah Azer and Alfred Bechlele. The prototype underwent comparative tests with competing SOMUA and Caterpillar tractors in 7/1935, where it showed its strengths. The Praga V won the competition, but the Turkish side demanded some modifications (chassis extension ?). The comments were fulfilled for other types of tractors that were delivered to Turkey in later period. The Turkish army bought 13 Praga V tractors. Neither their fate nor their date of retirement is known.
