CZK - Tatra 803

Tatra 803 - a prototype of a small off-road car, developed based on the requirements of the army around 1950. The construction of the chassis consists of a central support tube, connecting the differentials, transmission and engine into one rigid unit. The T803 is equipped with all-wheel drive, wheel reductions and differential locks.
By reconstructing the chassis, the well-known Tatra 805 was created.
Originally, the T803 was equipped with an engine with a volume of 1987 cm3, which was soon increased to 2345 cm3 and eventually replaced by a classic Tatra 603A engine.
The Tatra 803 did not go into series production, mainly due to the excessive curb weight and the negative attitude of the command of the then Warsaw Pact.
