Version overview:


Technologist (Kfir TC.1) - a technology demonstrator created by installing a J79-J1E engine into the fuselage of a Mirage IIIBJ. First flight 21.09.1970.


Kfir - basic fighter version


Kfir C.2 - aerodynamically improved version


Kfir TC.2 - a two-seat training version derived from the C.2 type


Kfir C.7 - a significant modification of the C.2 version, which received a more powerful J79-GEJ1E engine, two additional weapon racks, new radar and other systems that improved the aircraft's capabilities


Kfir TC.7 - a two-seat training version derived from the Kfir C.7


Kfir C.10 - export version


Kfir CE - export version (identical to the Kfir C.10 type, name change for commercial reasons)


Kfir 2000 - export version (identical to Kfir C.10, name changed for commercial reasons)


Kfir TC.10 - improved version of the Kfir TC.7 for the needs of the Colombian Air Force


Kfir C.12 - improved version of Kfir C.10 for Colombian Air Force, without Elta EL/M-2032 radar


Kfir Tzniut - reconnaissance version derived from the Kfir C.2 version


IAI F-21A Lion - designation for 25 Kfir C.1 aircraft used between 1985 (1985) and 1989 by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps for training purposes - the aircraft served as the so-called opposition force for air combat training.

Note: The role of Soviet-made MiG aircraft was also played by these machines in the films Iron Eagle and Iron Eagle II.
