American landing system Signal Corps System 51 (SCS-51) accounted for:

1) kursový beacon-transmitter (Localizer – LOC, the frequency of the 108-112 MHz),

This system was the us army installed on the Prague-Ruzyně airport VPD 22 for the needs of the allies in the closing days of the war. Served to secure the landing of heavy transport aircraft (including the "Liberátorů" our 311. sq. m.)with repatrianty and transport the material to our overseas units from the West.

(In 1949 to ICAO recommended as an international standardized landing system ILS (Instrument Landing System).

In the early fifties, the system was for political reasons from Ruzyne removed...

Limit/signal beacons=Markers serve to indicate the place/point - in navigating aircraft, especially in systems approach to land in adverse conditions.

(In some systems they can also be placed together with the nesměrovým radio beacon - Non-Directional-Beacon, NDB)

The basic element is the vertically directed broadcast radio signal at the frequency of 75 MHz (4 m) - roughly in the shape of a cone with the fact that it is "zploštěň".
The antenna consists of a in the dipole with a reflector or vertically directed antenna Yagi.

In the system of ILS are normally 3, located in the arrivals zone in the axis of the VPD and before its threshold distances:

- The outer marker = Outer Marker "O" Modulating frequency of 400 Hz - transmits 2 dashes/sec : 7200 m (6-11 km) from the threshold / (4-7 NM)
- The middle marker = Middle Marker "M" Modulating a frequency of 1 300 Hz - sends a 1 period and 1 comma/sec : 1000 m/(0.5-0.8 NM)
before the threshold
- Internal marker = Inner Marker "I" Modulating a frequency of 3 000 Hz - sends a 6 dots/sec : up to 100 m before the threshold
