Under the designation Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.B figured 7.Serie/La.S.100. From the previous versions Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.A and Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.B this version did not differ in any major change, therefore it is also difficult to identify it. The only difference was that the tanks of this version were equipped with modified visors with 50 mm thick bulletproof glass (some Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.B had them as well). They were identifiable by a pair of conical screw heads located on the visor and another pair above and below the visor. Problems with hull cracks in the rear caused by a design flaw persisted, and presumably all tanks of this version had a reinforcing bar fitted.


Many Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.C, as well as other versions, were retrospectively modified by fitting additional armour to the turret and hull front, fitting Noteka, fitting N.K.A.V. (a smoke grenade thrower), or fitting a conning tower with observation periscopes.
