The 719th Infantry Division was stationed in the Netherlands in 1941 and did not enter the action until the summer of 1944, when it fought against British troops near the Belgian border. After replenishment, it was sent to the Saarland, where it remained until its destruction in March 1945. It was restored in April and at the end of the war surrendered to American troops at Münsingen.
