Maritime historical park – Maritime museum of Greece - the Park of Maritime Tradition
The museum of the naval historical ships is located in Athens in the heart of Paleo Faliro, in the old port of Marina Flisvos. Steps away from beach volleyball centre, which was built for the Summer olympic games in 2004 in Athens.
The main attraction of the ship's maritime museum is panzerkreuzer Georgios Averof.
But there are embedded even more ships.
Destroyer class Fletcher, Velos D-16.
One historical maritime yacht Thalisomilissios.
And the vessel that participated in the partizánského resistance for II. world war.
On the shore is to be seen a replica of war triémy Olympias, built in the years 1985 – 1987 according to the assumptions of the british restorers and historical designers shipbuilding 500 years bc. The vessel has undergone several trials at sea. At the end it was decided to fix it, to preserve and put on display at the maritime historical park. Where for her to build a special shelter with a stand.
At the time of my visit was accessible panzerkreuzer Georgios Averof, triéma Olympias on land and a destroyer Velos D-16. On the destroyer Velos D-16 was the only accessible deck. All of the superstructure and below deck have been closed and are probably not even normally accessible.
