The cannon has been manufactured since 1903 by the German company Krupp. The basic model was mostly slightly modified according to the wishes of customers. The 1903 model was purchased by the Romanian army and in the years 1903 - 1908 it bought 360 pieces of these cannons. Romania still used cannons in 1942, when they were very obsolete.
The cannon had a fluid-spring brake device and usually Krupp's wedge lock.

7.5 cm Field cannon M 03
The cannon is based on Krupp's earlier design of the Model 1902 field cannon, the braking and recoil mechanism is hydraulic with springs. The weapon has a wedge breech and the shield is made of nickel steel. The shield consisted of two parts, a movable upper part with two observation holes and a fixed lower part of the shield.
In 1912 the Turkish army had 162 batteries armed with 75 mm cannons from Krupp 96 pieces of M. 1903 was delivered in 1903 and 462 pieces in 1905, 90 pieces of M 1909 was delivered in 1910. There are only small differences between the two models of cannons. .
In the years 1912-1913, the Bulgarian army captured 144 pieces from the Turks.

Version

The gun was produced under licence in different countries: Belgium, produced guns under the designation of M1905, the license was purchased from f. Krupp Turks and Italy, Italy under the designation M1906, Japan, Holland.

Belgium:
Model 1905 r of 75 mm or more originating in Belgium was consistent with the German model of 1903. The first pieces were purchased in Germany. Later the guns were assembled from purchased parts from Germany and imported to Belgium, the barrel of the gun was, but it is manufactured in Belgium from metal ingots imported from England. In 1914 it was a cannon armed with 18 brigades, which each had three artillery batteries. Most of them were lost when the first German attacks. After the first world war were a belgian weapon manufactured with a few improvements.

Italy:
The Italian version of the Cannon 75/27 mod 06. The italians made guns in the two series in 1906 and in 1911 (Mod.11). The Italian model is manufactured with opening your shoulders so the gun can shoot large náměrovými angles, therefore, are also used as anti-aircraft guns.

Japan:
