The gun was made colonel Adolf Furrerem which was at the time of construction of the weapon (the first half of the twenties) the director of the enterprise Waffenfabrik Bern. The gun was in 1925, introduced as "Leichtes Maschinengewehr Modell 1925" into the arms of the swiss army, where he was in service until the early sixties. Unlocking the conclusion and therefore the function of the weapon, is derived from the short reverse movement of the barrel, locking it using a system of levers and joints, remotely similar to the system need to machine gun the Maxim, but with a number of changes and improvements, and apart from the above mentioned, the lever moving in the horizontal plane. Speciality of the system Furrer was that the barrel and the conclusion of the stay connected all the time, that on the one hand, to ensure greater reliability of the weapons, but it was very demanding on the production accuracy and minimum tolerances. The gun shoots from the open end. The weapon used schránkový tray on the internet from the right, which contained 30 rounds. The amount of charges can be checked by means of the hole on the upper side of the stack. Vystřelené cartridges were thrown away on the left. Certain specialty was that of the lever uzamykající conclusion when shooting from falling outside the contour of the receiver and the slit which it happened was in marching position covered by protiprachovou cover that opens to the tensioning arms. Air cooled barrel was removable, including a part of the conclusion. Shooting was possibly either the dose or single shots, the peculiarities of the structures of the end is the location of the switch mode of firing, which is on the front part of the storage shaft. The standard was equipped with a machine gun dvounožkou uchycenou at the mouth, a certain peculiarity was the third leg, which it was possible for the gun to add roughly in the middle of the length. For use as a universal machine gun, it was possible to use the trojnožku. Sights was normally open, but supposedly it was possible to be mounted telescopic sights. If it is known, this was not a machine gun was exported, the reason was obviously the price, which was given a relatively complex and precise manufacturing.

I kind of went through my archives and I found a scan of the original manual, the swiss army on this gun. A few pictures of her I put, because it will allow a somewhat better idea about this interesting weapon. The first is the barrel as an exchange part, so even with parts of the conclusion. The second is the tray and its accessories. The third is dvounožka together with a third leg. The fourth is a three-legged mount allowing a fire on the aircraft, the configuration is of course against the one on the picture will change and the shot is worth. The last is the attachment of the arms to the simple gears.

the next part will be about the own activities of the weapons, the first image is a diagram of the activities of conclusion, then gather the ammo from the stack, its retraction and lock, note that the barrel is significantly moving forward. The second is their own leverage mechanism locking.
Although in the descriptions it says about the short zákluzu mainly, in fact, it was about recoil in a length of several centimeters.

furrer -lgm 25? It doesn't look anything like this? The system is very sophisticated and, with a few modifications is identical with the P-08. Due to the requirements of the cartridge used are the major adjustments made to the lock lever, where they are added retaining barbs that eliminate the pressure generated during the shot on the main pin of the leverage mechanism. The P-08 is the main cog of the leverage mechanism sufficiently massive, and the whole force that acting on it when the shot is actually captured by the pin and the two faces that are on the back side of the fingerboards device of an articulated conclusion.
The main emphasis on the reliability of the system is seen when looking at the extractor shell casings. At first glance, each impresses with its size.It is very massive and it is seen that the designer knew very well what are the field conditions.Because as I always say ,that can be a matter how sophisticated weapon but if there is no perfect extractor shell casings,so is the gun useless.
It is unfortunately just often enough to see with today's modern self-loading and repeating weapons, mostly produced in the US.
In many cases, it is about weapons using powerful hunting or other ammunition and the extractor is comparable with a gun that is designed on a charge of 7.65 Brow.
In my work with such structures over the last years encountered many times already..
