Kord machine gun manufactured in Kovrov is the successor of the machine gun NSV and NSVT, with which it is dimensionally interchangeable.
Improvements consist of minor design and technological changes that have brought improved stability in shooting and reduced scatter. The right and left belt feed and the wide range of mounts on offer allow easy installation on vehicles and helicopters with the possibility of disassembly and use outside the vehicle.
The information in the manual comes from 1997-2002, meanwhile the weapon received an effective muzzle brake and some combinations weapons and carriages were assigned their own indexes, current information must be searched on the website of the manufacturer ZID Kovrov (Degtjareva plant). For export, the weapon is also produced in NATO caliber 12.7x99 mm ( .50 BMG).
