Vláda SR schválila rozšírenie kontingentu ISAF v Afganistane na 348 vojakov a zmenila im aj mandát. Okrem odborníkov na výbušniny (EOD) tam pôjdu aj príslušníci špeciálnych síl (5.pšu), ktorí budú môcť byť nasadzovaní aj mimo vojenských základní. Rozhodnutie musí schváliť ešte parlament. V súčasnosti v operácii slúži 299 vojakov OSSR.
