The bomb is manufactured by the Russian company BAZALT. It is designed to destroy reinforced concrete structures, bridges, runways, dams, land infrastructure (roads, railway junctions) and combat vessels. The bomb is capable of penetrating a one-metre-thick reinforced concrete ceiling that is covered with more than three metres of soil. The bomb can be dropped from a height of 30-5,000 m at speeds of 600-1,200 km/h. The bomb's fuse can be electric or mechanical with high resistance and delayed response.
