Tanks in the battle of Madagascar
Although many historians of World War II history forget the British landing in Madagascar, this landing had several firsts - it was the first British large combined operation, which not only served as a diversionary event, but aimed at staying permanently on the mainland and creating bridgehead for further action. They were also used for the first time during landing to support landing units, albeit in limited numbers.
