Women as soldiers during World War I
The immediate participation of women in the fighting during the First World War was very vividly monitored and commented on during the war. At that time, there were no newspapers that did not provide detailed reports on their direct participation in the fighting. The same goes for magazines. In almost all armies, whether on the side of the Treaty or the Central Powers, women were directly involved in the fighting at the front.
