Operation Halyard
It was the largest rescue operation in the modern history of the American armed forces. Thanks to her, more than five hundred shot down pilots got safely back to their units. Many of them had to spend almost half a year in the formally occupied territory, which was under the control of the resistance forces, before they were safely evacuated.
