Brigadier John Henry Anstice was born on 25.10.1897 at Prestwick.
07.04.1916 he received his first commission as Second Lieutenant to Royal Armoured Corps (6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons (The Gazette, 1916)) and in the same year from August he served on European battlefields till end of war.

In 1942 is transformed to 7th Armoured Brigade Group which is in India, Iraq, Palestine and Syria and in 1943 is transformed back to 7th Armoured Brigade. In October 1942 is awarded with Bar of DSO for Burma service (The Gazette, 1942).
In januray 1944, for duration of two months, he take over command of 8th Armoured Brigade, UK. 19.03.1944 is reverted back to his substantive rank as Colonel (Generals) and in May 1944 Anstice is appointed as Head Liaison Officer at Headquarters, 21st Army Group in Northwest Europe and than from October till December he became be as a General Staff Officer (GSO 1) for Home Forces.
On 02.08.1949 he retires (British Army Officers) and 10.02.1970 died at Thorpe-le-Soken.
