Avro Lancaster Mk I ED761 pri návrate z náletu nad Berlinom bol napadnutý a zostrelený nočným stíhačom por. Werner Rapp, 7./NJG 1, operujúcim z letiska Deelen. Okolo 04,11 storj havaroval do pastviny u Veldweg v Waverveen a spôsobil velký kráter. Celá osádka zahynula.
Osádka následne bolo pochovaný na cintoríne za Holandským refomovaným kostolom v Waverveen		 - KIA
