Who of you knows that this general, one of the most famous German generals, had Jewish ancestors ?
I learned about this fact from Antony Beevor's book Stalingrad, the fateful encounter 1942-1943 and I would be quite interested to know if anyone has any further information.

This information seems to be quite widespread.His profile would also fit the classical portrayal of a Jew by German propaganda.And his original name von Lewinski is supposedly also Jewish.My personal opinion is that he was definitely at least part Jewish.

I don't want to rant, but it couldn't go into the PERSONAL category. I was spat upon for putting a photo of a tanker on the base of this chassis in the Tatra 138 section, so I couldn't help wondering why this is in this section. In my opinion it would be better suited to the PERSONALITIES section.
