CZK - RV-85

ruční vrhač
Hand thrower RV-85

Production: General Engineering Plant Brno (Zbrojovka Brno)

The weapon was designed for shooting spec. ammunition to closed objects, for example to enable the rescue of hostages or to expel people from the object.

RV-85 is a single-shot rifle designed for firing 26.5 rounds. It is equipped with a barrel with a length of 500 mm with a smooth hard chrome-plated bore. The breech is tiltable, controlled by a crown handle, when the breech is opened, the hammer is tensioned and automatically locked, the weapon is also equipped with a sliding lock located in the front of the bow. Pulling out the cartridges is ensured by a puller placed under the barrel, when the breech is opened, the puller pulls the cartridge out of the chamber and allows the shooter to easily remove it. This is similar to the signal pistol vz. 44.

The weapon is equipped with a tilting sight for shooting at 50 and 100m, while the maximum range is about 700m at a given muzzle velocity of 100 m/s.

Ammunition:
for RV-85 the following types of ammunition are used.
Piercing Missile - Generator (PS-G)
Piercing Missile - Training Generator (PS-G-Cv)
Piercing Missile - Wanderer (PS-T)
Piercing bullet - Wanderer (PS-T-Cv)
Piercing Missile - Spare (PS-Nh)
Piercing Missile - Spare CS (PS-CS-Nh)

The cartridge comes out of the cartridges into the signal pistol, but its edge of the bottom of the cartridge is provided with a perforation, which prevents the loading of these cartridges on the signal pistol.

Dear ENGLISH FORUM Members:

Does anyone know where the 26,5 mm ammunition for the CZK RV-85 Rifles was manufactured? Is "JPW" Plant still in operations?

Thanking all of you in advance for your assistance.

Yours,

Bladeswest.

Hello, I hope my English can translate well, as I do not speak or read Czech at all.

I and many others here in the United States were lucky to purchase RV-85 launchers from Centerfire Systems. http://centerfiresystems.com/flare-rv85.aspx

We are also lucky that 26.5mm flares and smoke are available here from many sources.

We also have suppliers who are making special re-usable 26.5mm cartridge cases. http://www.americanspecialtyammo.com/26_5mm.html

Many of us are curious if any progress has been made in finding out if the screw holes and slot on the left side of the barrel near the breech was for an optical sight or some other kind of mount?

There are some here in the USA who plan to try and produce a mount that could hold a 1x power red-dot scope, with the ability to have a great deal of deflection for range. However, we would love to see what the original looked like, or even if we could buy it from
