Based on experience with the low efficiency of tank armament Renault R 35 decided in December 1942 the command of the Romanian Army to modernize them, which consisted in replacing the original 37 mm cannon for Soviet caliber tank cannons 45 mm, coming from captured tanks BT-7 and T-26. Col. was entrusted with the preparation of the project. Constantin Ghiula and Capt. Dumitru Hogea. The prototype was completed at the end of February 1943 and subsequently tested in the summer of 1943. A total of 30 tanks were rebuilt, which received the designation Vânătorul de Care R 35 (transformat) (tank fighter R 35 transformed). They were used together with standard tanks Renault R 35 in combat operations in Czechoslovakia and Austria, and by the end of the war, all were destroyed in combat.

I would like to present pictures of the remains of the tower from the Romanian reconstruction of the tank Renault R 35. The tower is interesting in that it is equipped with a prey tank cannon model 1938 (45-mm rifle rifle image of 1938, factory index: 20K).
The torso of the tank tower was photographed by a Romanian colleague in Slovakia, during the event Starý Tekov (probably in 2008). I assume that these are the remnants of the fighting on the river Hron, when on March 26 - March 27, 1945, according to Romanian sources, eight of these tanks were destroyed and two damaged.
