Vládní vojsko 1939-1945

Diskuse

Government regulation no 216/39 collection of 25.July, 1939, established the government troops of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia.

If you have any information regarding the soldiers of the government troops, with them.
Photos welcome, as well as biographies of soldiers.
In particular, I would welcome information about those who fled (were dragged) in Italy.
Many of the government soldiers boarded to čs. the foreign army.
Some got on to the RAF, CSOB, MUSTANG, other then the NT in England..

Beginnings and formation of the government army:

In the first place, it was a transfer of the following persons:

Transfer voj. gážists, long-serving and civilian employees from the abolished Ministry of Defense.

E.g. A letter was delivered to the long-serving, stating that on June 30, 1939, they were released from the former armed forces ........
In the lower part, it was attributed that according to Part II of Reg. 139/1939 The collections are intended to be transferred with them, in particular to
Government Corps of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia.

The following was transferred:
about 500 officers
about 3000 sergeants
about 2500 long-term

In June 1939, almost 6,000 soldiers from the original Czechoslovak army were transferred.

The maximum number of government troops was to be 7,000. However, this number was never reached during its operation.

Armament of own troops -ehm
........... on the day of the contributions and pictures below ..... it is therefore the armament of the German army: Mauser K98k and a Walther P.38 pistol.

I have to disappoint you, but this is not the armament of a government army. In the picture I see a Mauser K98k rifle and a Walther P.38 pistol. The armament of the government army consisted of old Austrian Mannlicher vz.1895 rifles and ČZ vz.24 pistols. Originally, the VV was supposed to be armed with vz.24 rifles, but these seemed very modern and reliable to the Germans. See also the article in the latest HPM.

Thank you for the clarification (in short, a complete rebuttal): roll:, as I look at it, I received a photo of the armament of a German soldier. Thank you once again.

Is there anyone who really delves deeper into the topic of the Government Army? Origin, fate, operation in Italy, connection to the resistance, etc.

Hi, I recently found out that my great-grandfather was in the government army. His name was Jaroslav Vastl (1922-1970) and he belonged to the 5th Battalion. When he was transferred to Italy, he joined the Garibaldi guerrilla brigade. After the war, he continued to serve in the army. I also have photos of him if he is interested and I am writing a seminar about him this year.

A beautiful day,
I also learned that my ancestor, my mother's uncle, had been deployed with the government army to Italy. After deeper research, I was able to find his personal writings, nominal lists of some battalions in Italy, rewritten radio broadcasts of London, greetings of soldiers to families in the Czech Republic and announcements of death. It will take me some time to rewrite these materials, so I want to ask if I could set up a direct file to deal with this. Thank you

Hello, is it possible to contact? My grandfather was the deputy commander of the 5th Battalion in Italy. I would like to know where your ancestor served. I have quite a few documents about the military, I have studied all the cartons in the VHA. Of course, especially with regard to my grandfather. Regards vallaj@seznam.cz

Good day,
my grandfather also served in the Government Army, he was also in Italy, according to his place of birth I assume he served in Vysoké Mýto. I am more interested in his work and especially in what positions he served. But I'll probably have to request a copy of his master list, but I don't know how much is paid today and how. His name was Josef JIRKA in 1920, you didn't come across any mention of his service.

Dear colleague,
I recommend that you ask in writing (perhaps electronically) to send copies of your grandfather's master certificate and other staff. As far as I know, the Military History Archive usually sends a response within two to three weeks.

Good day,
in an article from the magazine A report 06/2020
The memory of the veteran is given as follows for the armament of companies performing guard duty in Italy
"..The company was equipped with a very small number of weapons - each had one rifle and together the guard had one light machine gun, a pair of hand grenades and one pistol. ..."

Pk there is a mention that "..When an anti-Nazi uprising broke out in Prague on May 5, government troops begged the Americans to arm them and send them to their homeland. However, the Americans refused and relocated the troops to the Verona area. and Knejfl) became members of the VP - Military Police. They guarded the headquarters at the lake and Verona - so that the soldiers or residents did not do anything wrong. "

Dobrý den, mám kopii listu vojáka vládního vojska, mého dědy,
potřebuji ujasnit význam zápisu tužkou na zadní straně

Gursone, Gaiba, Tomasello
