USAF oznámilo, že byla zahájena ohlášená redukce počtu stíhacích letounů F-16C na německé základně Spangdahlem. Dne 27. dubna 2010 opustilo základnu prvních šest strojů, další šestice bude následovat 30. dubna. Počet letounů F-16 ve Spangdahlemu bude zredukován o celkem 21 strojů. Dosavadní dvě stíhací perutě, 22nd a 23rd Fighter Squadron, budou nahrazeny jediným útvarem.
