He was born on November 3, 1903 in Vienna as the son of a clerk of the tax office, which also became his profession. On the basis of membership in the NSDAP 1934 taken into custody, later left for Germany. Here was the Reichsstellenleiter NSDAP - ie an official in the party office. 1937/38 midfielder exercises in the Wehrmacht. At the outbreak of war he enlisted in the rank of private to Inf.Rgt. 309, During the Polish campaign Iron Cross Class II. In 1940 he commanded a machine gun platoon in the 4th Company deployed in the Netherlands (Iron Cross Class I) and Belgium. When the attack on the city of Ursel was sent to create a bridgehead collided with the body of his company commander, Sergeant Ingram took command and recharged in close combat several enemy artillery batteries. The breakthrough enabled the regiment to create a bridgehead and capture 4,000 Belgian soldiers. For which Hermann von Ingram received the Knight's Cross on June 16, 1940 and was promoted to trainee. After the western campaign, he was promoted to lieutenant in reserve. In 1941 he was promoted to lieutenant in reserve. Despite his military achievements in 1941, he left the army and sent to the conquered territories through the Reich Ministry. At the West (Paris) head of department at the Einsatstab Rosenberg, von Ingram organized transports of French cultural treasures and Jewish property. 1943 promoted to Oberstaveinsatzführer and chief of the Hauptabt. III in Berlin. 1945/46 interrogated by the French Commission of Inquiry for his actions. Nothing is known about a possible conviction. In 1957 von Ingram was the founder of the Officers' Association in Salzburg. He died on April 22, 1995 in Salzburg.
