Honors "puppet" state"
Inner Mongolia .

The so-called Inner Mongolia has always been part of imperial China, and later also China's republican . At the same time, however , since 1910 the territory controlled military tribal commander , but also bandits , who did not want to be subject to influence and decision-making of the central chinese government .

Japan , after the success with the puppet state of Manchuria was followed similarly in its policy towards the territory , which we call Inner Mongolia . Already in 1933 for the help of Japan was part of the territories affiliated to the Manchuria .

The japanese were very well aware that this country is rich in strategic raw materials necessary to wage war . The scheme was therefore looser than, for example, in Korea . This puppet state existed under the patronage of Japan until its defeat in 1945 .

The government of this special state department permission , or rather at the direct order of the Japan bases its honours :

ORDER FOR MILITARY MERIT ( Military Merit Decoration )

This meritorious commendation , which is referred to as the order , is made of gilded silver . About the foundation of the order we know from the information that was carried in the Japanese newspapers , ( 20 . march 1938 ) . The order was made in Japan and its author is the artistic master Chinako Dzisudso (this transcription of the names is inaccurate ) .

The japanese press about the founding of the honors detail reported and the statutes of this order are based on the statute of the order of the Golden one of the things .

The cross has a diameter of 48 mm . A decoration is formed by a cross , which has a sharpened end of the shoulder and the whole area is covered with red ( red ) enamel . Between the arms of the cross going through the four ritual swords , characteristic for the western part of the country . The center medallion is made of bronze and bears the portrait of the ancient mongol leader and hero. The medallion is heavily gold-plated .

The back side is silver , gilded, and on the desktop of the cross is the inscription in chinese and Mongolian characters :
MEDAL FOR MILITARY MERIT

A decoration on a garment fastened with two vertical clamps .

The National Foundation Merit Medal.

Day 1. September 1939, at the direct suggestion of the Japanese ministry of foreign affairs was founded one more interesting medal, meritorious character, in the field of the so-called "Frontier of Mongolia".

Merit medal of the "Frontier of Mongolia" was made in Japan. It's about the quality of the minting of silver. The medal has a diameter of 31 mm.

Avers:
The foreside of the medal there are two dragons in the clouds. In the center of the medal is the figure of a herdsman with a flock of sheep on the background of a typical Mongolian yurt. On the upper part of the medal is gold-plated japanese hieroglyph, but also the Mongolian character whose translation is:
MERIT

Reverse:
The reverse side bears the medal is once again the inscription both in japanese but also in chinese and its translation is as follows:
l. SEPTEMBER 734 ERY of GENGHIS khan
MEDAL FOR MERIT AND HONOUR OF THE FOUNDING OF THE STATE

Ribbon:
The ribbon is wide, 37 mm. It is made of silk and is typical for all japanese decoration. Ribbon - see picture.
Medals were awarded in the etui, which was black painted. On the top of the lid of an etui is the name of this meritorious medal.

The literature is listed in the introductory part of the article ..

Due to the understandable lack of documents we cannot expect that we'll ever know the details of this distinction. Some of the facts we can argue, e.g., that there might be a variant with red enamel in silver. But e.g. whether it was a red enamel superior to blue or vice versa is hard to ever know.
