Po více než dvouleté rekonstrukci se Národní památník na Vítkově otevřel veřejnosti. Na expozici Křižovatky české a československé státnosti v prostorách památníku se podílel také Vojenský historický ústav.


Slavnostního otevření se v neděli 25. října 2009 zúčastnili nejvyšší státní představitelé v čele s prezidentem republiky Václavem Klausem.
