Mannesmann-Mulag

In October 1914 has been compiled in Ižorském race in Kolpinu armored truck for "the destruction of enemies in okopech, machine-gun nests and enemy armored cars" on čtyřtunovém chassis with an engine power of 50 HP company Mannesmann-Mulag. The vehicle had the original driving box and the engine compartment newly armored (4-5 mm), on the truck with armored sides was placed a large shield automatic naval cannon Hotchkiss 37 mm (these weapons removed from naval ships have been in storage a considerable amount). In the arsenal were also two machine guns 7,62 Maxim 1910, one portable on a truck bed and a second frontal armor of the cabin. At the beginning of the next year were made to two other pieces on the chassis-Mannesmann-Mulag of the same appearance, this time with the motors 42 HP, cannon of the same type and caliber and one gun. The stock of ammunition amounted to 1 200 rounds of ammunition for cannon and 8 000 for the machine guns. The crew consisted of 6-7 men. The vehicle was intended for 1. automotive machine-gun platoon.

Vehicle manufactured in 1914 was deployed as the first Russian armored vehicle at the front under the command of captain Gurdova and in the battle 21.11.1914 in Pabianice, he managed to stop the breakthrough of the German units (not for long, but the Russian units that allowed the retreat to new positions). The vehicle was several times shot, the majority of the crew including the commander wounded, chap.Gurdov received the Order of st. George IV. class.
The last "survivors" of the vehicle was dismantled in 1921 in Moscow.
