Armoured car of the Berliet company from 1929. The machine was classified as a reconnaissance combat vehicle. The platform was a 4x4 concept and on it a simple box body made of armoured plates of maximum thickness 7 mm was created. Armament consisted of two Hotchkiss FM 24/29 machine guns of 7.5 mm calibre, for which around 4,000 rounds of ammunition were carried. Firing could be conducted from holes in the hull, or by folding the folding roof, firing could be conducted through the sides of the vehicle. The vehicle's crew consisted of a driver and a commander, and 4 additional men could be carried. The vehicle was approved for series production. In 1930, 50 vehicles were produced, bearing the matriculation numbers 85 565 - 85 574 and 85 581 - 85 620. The urgent need for these machines led to their deployment in colonial units in North Africa in Morocco 1er RCA (Régiment de Chasseurs d'Afrique) and 5. a 6. escadron in 1er REC (Régiment Etranger de Cavalerie). The beginning of World War II is said to have seen 32 vehicles and they served in these units until 1942/43.
A further 12 units of this armoured car were delivered to the Belgian Army. The machines were used in the fighting against German troops after the invasion of the country in 1940.
