The R353 Proton is intended as a long range radio station, over 4000 km. Although some authors consider it to be a predecessor of the R354, this is not true, it is a separate design.The R353 is designed as a full duplex radio. The storage of the broadgram is on a tape recorder made of thin steel plate.
